Update! Life and Where I've Been!

Hey Everyone!

I haven't posted on here in so long and I really miss it. I have recently gotten a job and have been finishing up my first year of college. I have decided that I am not going to go back in the fall and as of May 7, 2013 I will starting Cosmetology school! I am so excited because I am finally doing what I want to do in life.

The school I will be going to is Fashion Focus Hair Academy. They are an amazing school that has the Pivot Point education. Salons all over my area rave about how amazing the schooling is and I am more than honored to be accepted! I plan to do bi-weekly updates about what I'm learning and about my experience.

I am planning to do a lot more blog posts and get back into blogging. If you have any suggestions for posts you can leave them below or leave a comment on my Facebook page.

I'm really glad I'm back and I'm ready to blog! :)

Wash Your Makeup Brushes like a Pro!

Hey Everyone!

So today I have a super helpful blog post for all of you. It is a easy way to clean your makeup brushes and it only uses two products! All you need a some dish washing detergent and a little bit of Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

I use whatever is by our kitchen sink, as long as it is antibacterial. I put about five to six table spoons in a plastic container depending on how many brushes you are washing. Then I will use about a table spoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and mix to the two together as much as possible.

I then move everything into my bathroom and get my brushes ready. I keep a towel handy so when I'm finished I can place them on it to dry.

First, let's talk about the parts of your makeup brush.  Starting from the top is the bristles. These can be synthetic or natural. The next part is the ferrule. This is the metal portion where the bristles are glued tightly and it is what connects the bristles to the next portion which is the handle. The handle is what you hold at different lengths to achieve different results.

Let's Begin!  I do my eye brushes then face brushes and lastly my makeup sponges.

All you need to do is turn the water to luke warm so you heat up the glue in the ferrule. Place the bristles under the water with the bristles pointing down so NO water seeps into the ferrule.

After the bristles are wet, dip the brush into the Extra Virgin Olive Oil and the into the dish detergent.

Wet your hand and swirl the brush on your palm until the soap forms a lather. Rinse all the soap from the bristles and squeeze out the excess water.

Shape the brush like it was before and place it on a towel to dry. It's as simple as that!

I hope this helped a lot of you and you try this out yourselves. I used this method everytime I wash my brushes and it has kept them clean and germ free until next wash!

Thanks for reading!

Have you heard about Influenster?

Hello Everyone!

I want to talk about a company that I am slightly new to, but love very much. That company as you can see is Influenster. It is a site where you can review products, earn badges, answer questions, and perform tasks to receive products. Influenster has recently relaunched their website and has more to offer than ever before.

When I first joined, I was a bit confused on how it worked. After awhile, I caught on. With the relaunch, it is much easier to use and I absolutely love the website.

I love performing all the tasks and receiving products. Recently I was chosen to receive Crest 3D White Strips to try and give a review on. The tasks are fun and easy and really get you involved with social networking.

My favorite part of the site is the reviews and ratings. Every time I see a product I want to try on their site, I always read the reviews before buying. This really helps me save money and time since it's all in one place.

I encourage you guys to sign up for Influenster! It's free and I know that you won't regret it!

October 2012 Ipsy Glam Bag!

Guess who got their little pink package! :)

So yesterday I received my first Ipsy Glam Bag and I am more than happy with everything I got. This was my first monthly subscription bag and I am so happy I subscribed. This months theme was Hello Bombshell.

The bag was a black and white chevron pattern with a red patent leather zipper and zipper pull. This month's bag had five products and two being full size.

The first product I pulled out was the Mirenesse Lip Bomb Glossy Laquer Stain. Mine was in #2.

It is a deep red color that can be sheared out to a bright magenta. This is the color I wanted because it goes great with my fair toned skin.

The next item in the bag was Be A Bombshell Eye Liner Pen in Onyx.

I have been looking for a new black liquid eye liner and when I knew this was in our bags I was thrilled. This eye liner is a very black liner and has a thin tip to draw a very thin line. This just might be my new favorite!

The next product was What's Your Type? Black Mascara in "The Body Builder". I used this today and it really separates lashes and coats each one well.

The second to last product was the Pequi Oil Treatment. It restores softness and shine to your hair. I love this little bottle. :)

And that but certainly not least was the Coastal Scents mini quad. I received Set 5.

This is the cutest little pallet and has amazing pigmentation. This is the set I wanted and I am very please with the colors.

Swatches from top to bottom are Vibrant Red, Frosty Taupe, Vanilla Sky, and Raisin Berry. Out of all of them I love Raisin Berry. It is so pigmented and looks so good with my eyes.

I hope all of you subscribed to this bag because it really is a deal! You can go to www.ipsy.com and take their personalized quiz to start your subscription. It is only $ 10 and is really worth the money. More bag posts will be posted each month!

Hope you enjoyed!

Attention Nail Polish Lovers and Junkies!

Hey Everyone! So recently I noticed that Walgreens was having a HUGE sale on the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure nail polishes. In my store, they were originally $7.49 each and were on sale for $1.89! Recent news has stated that Sally Hansen is relaunching the line with a new formulation and will be back in stores in December. Here are photos of the colors I bought.

Cafe Au Lait (Left) and Mudsilde (Right)

Gray by Gray (Left) and Red Zin (Right)

Plum Luck (Left) and Pat on the Black (Right)

My total would have been a whopping $44.94, but it was only $11.34 and I saved $33.60!

I hope all of you go out and get some your selves. It is such a great deal that cannot be passed up. :)

I will soon be posting a review and full swatches of all the colors.

Hope you enjoyed!
